The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex of the Moorish monarchs of Granada in southern Spain (known as Al-Andalus when the fortress was constructed), occupying a hilly terrace on the southeastern border of the city of Granada. Once the residence of the Muslim kings of Granada and their court, the Alhambra is now one of Spain's major tourist attractions exhibiting the country's most famous Islamic architecture, together with Christian 16th century and later interventions in buildings and gardens that marked its image as it can be seen today. Within the Alhambra, the Palace of Charles V was erected by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor in 1527.
last summer i went there and i took lots of pictures, i just wonna share it with you :)
a view of Alhambra from a near hill , as you can see there is no decorations at the outer walls because the decoration was made of holy scripts at the period, so they was using it only inside

Hi,
Your pictures are fantastic, Realistic. I really want to visit Alhambra and am planning to do so this summer.
Why not tell us how you felt about this place?
A lot of my students here in Saudi also want to visit Andalucia to see what remains of the Moorish civilisation there. Some of them, however, seem to think the land belongs to them and they say they'd like to take it back! How did you feel when you visited this area of Spain?
Andrew
hey Andrew ..
well ,, when i was there i was really proud because i'm seeing what my muslims' ancestors did
and i the same time i feel shame coz we couldn't keep what they build.
actually, i think the same .. i believe that it is our land and one day we gonna take it back .. how to do so ? i really don't know :)

that is a real topic deserves to on our blog.
the snaps also gave value for the subject& because it was taken by one of us, so when I saw it Ifelt it was made by me.
Andrew,
seems that Yopu are wondering, surprised from the way muslims think to get their land back.
didn't you know that your home country was the first country who gave the right to Jewish in Palastine ((((((((( ou Muslim Arabian Land ))))).
aren't you surprised from the spanish occupation to Sebta & melilia in Morocco till now.
Since your country was the first or the leader country to confess of the presence of Isael on our land, so the same right is for us not only the muslim Arabs.
our land will be back& you have to be sure of that.
Sorry Andrew,
I forgot to tell you, our presence will stay long there, because we are respecting others very well& respecting their religions& cultures.
Can you tell us what has happened to the muslims when Spain get the land back from arabs!!!!!!
best regards
Pharaoh of Free Spain
Hola Realistic,
This place looks so special. INCREDIBLE!
Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. Do you have some stories to tell from that trip? What comes to mind when you think of it? Is it only the Al Hambra?
Has anyone else been to Spain?
I'm really looking forward to reading more about it.
Gracias and hasta luego,
ralitza
Hello everyone,
Wow, I seem to have awakened some passions. All I can say is that was genuinely shocked when my students said they would take these lands back. Although the Muslim settlers were in Spain for well over seven hundred years, I think the point here is that they were expelled over five hundred years ago, and the character of Spain is now firmly Spanish. There is no way on earth the people of Spain would let their country be conquered again and any attempt to do so would lead to great loss of life and suffering, which I don't believe anyone really wants. As for Free Pharoah's question about what happened to the Moors in Spain when they were expelled, I don't have a clear idea but it probably wasn't very pretty. Then again, lands are never conquered in the first place without bloodshed. I think Realistic is right to be proud of the achievements of his ancestors, and they are magnificent, but unRealistic (sorry!) to believe these lands will be returned to Islam.
I am ashamed to say that although I had heard of Ceuta (I'm not sure of its Arab name), I'd never heard of Melilla. Please pardon my ignorance and thank you Free Pharoah, for broadening my knowledge. It seems, however, that these enclaves have been under Spanish jurisdiction for over five hundred years and are culturally Spanish and as the inhabitants of both cities are EU citizens, it seems the majority of them wish things to stay that way. At least in the version of events I read....
And to the Palestinian question. In many ways the claim of Jewish settlers to the right to settle in Palestine is far less justifiable than the claims of Muslims to Andalucia, since they are basically trying to reclaim lands that they last occupied two thousand years ago. And all of Europe has to bear some responsibility for the establishment of Israel, since it was largely anti-Semitic policies, especially in Russia, that drove European Jews to settle in The "Holy Land" in the first place. It is true that the Balfour Declaration of 1917 issued by the then British government, which I think Free Pharoah was referring to, gave legitimacy to Zionist claims, and it's also a fact that Palestine was under a British "mandate" just before Israel was established. However, I should point out that the Jews started settling in Palestine in the nineteenth century, long before The Balfour Declaration was issued, and, by the way, they didn't think it went far enough. Also, the British authorities themselves alsio came under fire from Zionist terrorist groups such as the Irgun and were forced to make a hasty retreat from Palestine. Basically they were forced to abandon it without finding a solution to the crisis. The boundaries of the Jewish state were drawn by a United Nations mandate, not Britain itself, although I confess it was Britain who divided up Mesopotamia (present-day Iraq, Syria and Jordan) to disastrous effect. So to sum up, although all Europeans carry some collective responsibility for what has happened, I don't think it's fair to lay all the blame at the feet of the British.
I think the key here is to learn to live together and acknowledge and respect the differences between each other. We also have to learn to observe realpolitik in today's world.

Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your comment& am sure that we both might have some thing which can make us friends in the future.
always your comments are gaining my respection, especially whenever talking about human personal exprience, but I was chocked when I read your comment on Realistic topic, I've been chocked as I already had an idea about your culture from the last comment on my topic.
I wondered you spent all that time in our area& till now you can't understand the culture& the way that we think, I was thinking that you might get the arabs right but seems to me that you still effected by some western media.
My Dear,
The Arabian mind& culture is very openned& our religion never allows us to be in a position of occupying others'land, whenever we are talking about Arabs presence in Spain, you should know that it was the best thing happenned to Europe at that time, the Arabian settlers transfered the full civilization& culture to all Europe, which by the way is the base of the nowadays European civilization.
they improved all the scuiences there, even they create new kinds of sciences, they were the first founders of the social medical system for all including even the animals, they didn't kill, there presence ther was a chance for the nationals, then they married from each others (Arabs& Europeans) you can see that very well in the spanich faces, they made families, socity& that was the true meaning, application of teaching not only learning how to leave together.
I prefer to end my comment by that happy end & will not talk more about what has happened to them or still happening till now to any Arab person.
large difference still appear till today& appears clearly in the answer of that Q. " shalln't we receive the same respection& welcoming at your airports same as you receive in ours".
am not talking about people, I respect the all.
